Where do I start about how much Body Back and Leslie have helped me? I never imagined that in eight weeks I would feel like an improved version of myself. If there is any boot camp that I would recommend for mommas it would be this one. But let me backtrack a little bit…
My precious baby girl, Arabella, was born in May. It was a hard delivery which caused for me to be on the slow track to getting back into shape. I knew that my body would be different but even having that mentality, I was still shocked…even disgusted at times.
In August, I found Stroller Strides. After one class, I knew how much I needed this group. I remember calling my mom in tears because I was so happy that I found people that could relate to how I was feeling. I kept going on Saturdays and soon, Lolo told me to sign up for Body Back with Leslie. It took me a few days, but I signed up…not before Lolo’s warning ‘If you think I’m hard, just wait until we have class with Leslie’. At that point, I had no idea what I was in for! J
I’m not going to lie, it was hard. There were times I thought quit, or I would break down crying because I didn’t think I could make it the hour. I wanted to throw up, not follow the nutrition plan…just let my stubborn mind get the best of me. My husband (God bless that man), Leslie, and the rest of the women in the group saved me from that. As an instructor, you couldn’t ask for a better one. Leslie LOVES what she does and you can tell that by spending one hour with her. Even after our 100s class, when I’m sure all of us wanted to curse at her, I know I wanted to hug her because if you asked me if I would do 100 reps of 12 exercises earlier in the program, I would have laughed at you. If you told me I would knock almost 4 minutes off my time for running a mile, I would have smirked. But those things happened! Leslie gave us the ‘tools’ to make those things happen. The Body Back program is not just about getting healthy and making sure it sticks…it’s about making you stronger as a person, wife, mother, and friend – mentally and physically.
The program is eight weeks long, two nights, for one hour. What do you have to lose? I’ve signed up for the second one and can’t wait for the third. I’m much happier, less stressed, more conscious of my food decisions (okay, the holidays were a bit roughJ), and more focused about life in general. Body Back and Leslie helped me get there in eight weeks. I can’t wait to see what I can achieve in the next eight.
